Your joy will return, return, return. Heads are gonna roll and the water's gonna burn and the liquid in our bodies will evaporate in time. Love is infinite and mine.

I wanna be all yours I wanna be up all night, I wanna see the future from a distance, and I wanna be alright.

On Broadway 01:46
I heard the sounds from down the street, the distant horns and marching feet. You said they sounded out of time but we only heard it line-by-line, and the lines were a mess on Broadway! Yet sometimes it's best to give nothing away and while I wanted to breathe like the rest, I didn't put my lungs to the test. And our clothes were a mess on Broadway! But we stood in the rain and walked on the pavers. And "under the pavers, a beach!" but the surf washed away and the tide didn't reach and the band continued to play, and the lines were a mess on Broadway. And I wanted to breathe like the rest but all of the notes got stuck in my chest.

about

RD9: Last year I finally bit the bullet and traveled through Japan with ex-girlfriend (now fiancé) and while the sheer adrenaline of doing something so removed from my usual small comfort zone powered me straight through it in a daze, afterwards I was flooded with a sense of the world being much bigger and simultaneously more and less exciting than I had initially thought. I wasn't 'bit by the travel bug' exactly; I don't want travel to become a prosaic thing and am far, far too much of a homebody to want to be away for long. I enjoyed letting the feeling percolate for a while, though, and it was a very beautiful, delirious and ultimately lovely three-and-a-bit weeks.

A year later in November a friend asked me to play a show that is generally aimed at more electronic music than is normally my bailiwick. I set to it and ended up churning stuff out that somewhere between Miami Nights 1984 or old science text book accompaniment VHS tapes, by way of Daniel Johnston or Dirty Beaches. So here are some synths, more aggressive loops, still as typically (stupidly, I think sometimes) ridden with tape hiss, that I wrote on a toy keyboard, distorted with some guitar pedals, and recorded to a Yamaha MT120. Digital version will go up when all of the CD's are gone.
